RECOMMENDED • START WITH A BILL

Upload your TNB electricity bill

We extract consumption, current charges, billing cycle, tariff and historical usage where available. Review the values before calculating. Manual entry remains available.

Privacy by design: the local parsing prototype processes the PDF in memory and does not save the uploaded bill. Names, addresses and account numbers are not displayed in assessment results. Sensitive details are never sent to IT Mark without a separate, explicit quotation request and consent.
No file uploaded. Use the October example already loaded below, or enter values manually. PDF extraction requires the supplied localhost server.

PLAN YOUR ENERGY FUTURE

Every tariff. Every charging schedule.
One clearer investment decision.

Explore residential, retail and commercial energy use before choosing a solar installation. All calculations remain vendor-neutral.

Property & TNB configuration

Step 1
Defaulted fields can always be changed.

Oct 2026 published rate: 3.61 sen/kWh; actual AFA charged may be RM0 after exemption.

Where defaults come from: October example values are taken from the uploaded TNB bill. Billing cycle is calculated from the bill dates; published AFA is a tariff reference and may be exempted on the actual bill.

Existing versus new loads: EVs and air conditioners already included in your TNB bill will be allocated within existing consumption. Only items marked “Additional/future” increase your baseline usage.

The tariff and electrical supply are separate inputs. Domestic single-phase and three-phase connections do not automatically have different energy tariffs. Commercial MV/HV calculations are provisional until verified against actual bill components and maximum-demand data.

Energy usage & time schedules

Add unlimited EVs, air conditioners or other appliances. Existing loads are apportioned within the current bill.

Step 2

Electric vehicles

Quick scenario presets

Daily AC energy is a target, not the charger nameplate rating. A 7.4 kW wallbox may be configured to draw less power. Charger, vehicle onboard AC rating, actual charging losses and simultaneous electrical loads affect feasibility.

Air conditioners

HP describes an air-conditioner class, not measured input wattage. Defaults are broad estimates; use actual rated input or metering data for improved accuracy.

Additional / future appliances

Solar PV, battery & generation ranges

Adjust panel count, installation assumptions and battery operation. Outputs react to each change.

Step 3

PV system settings

The yield setting is a planning assumption, not a property-specific radiation study. Export credit for non-domestic Solar ATAP is linked to applicable Average SMP rather than automatically using the domestic tariff.

Battery scenario

Battery simulation assumes solar-only charging, simplified power/energy limits, no grid charging, and no outage guarantee. Real battery warranties, degradation and inverter compatibility require verification.

Panel count sensitivity

Conservative/expected/optimistic outputs use illustrative yield multipliers; they are not statistically derived P90/P50/P10 meteorological confidence levels.

Independent installer quotation comparison

Enter prices received from any vendor. All quotations remain user-supplied and unverified.

Step 4

Vendor quotations

The prototype does not upload, share or transmit vendor quotations. There is no market-price database in this version. Future anonymous aggregation would require explicit opt-in, independent of quotation enquiries.

Financing and cost of ownership

Monthly instalments are financial illustrations only. Financing quotations may include processing fees, takaful/insurance, early settlement conditions and variable interest changes. No bank or lender is endorsed.

Solar settlement, EEI adjustments, billing thresholds and export-credit limits are simplified in this pre-production mockup. ToU applies modelled weekday 2pm–10pm peak hours, but does not yet account for selected public holidays. It must not be used to guarantee savings or reproduce an actual post-solar TNB bill without production validation.

Where solar electricity goes

Monthly simulation on a representative 30-day hourly profile.

Hour-level energy profiles and solar yield are estimated from schedules. Actual weather, inverter clipping, import/export metering and real-time charger control will change the result.

Ten-year illustration holds tariff rates constant, models solar degradation approximately and excludes replacement costs, taxes, discounting and contract changes. Do not interpret this as a guaranteed return.

Schedule scenarios — one EV versus two EVs

Scenarios are generated from the existing input configuration without altering your saved work. They compare daytime and night charging using the same assumed energy requirements; feasibility depends on charger and vehicle availability.

Compare candidate panel configurations

More panels do not always provide proportionally greater savings. All candidates reuse the current inverter rating, which may limit output through clipping; a real quote must resize compatible equipment. Additional energy may be exported rather than used directly.

Entirely optional

You can use, save and print this assessment without giving IT Mark any contact information. IT Mark does not automatically issue quotations from this calculator.

Mockup interaction only: no customer data is transmitted and no enquiry is submitted.

Calculation method & independent-use notice

Transparency about assumptions is a central requirement, not a footer afterthought.

Bill calculation

The demo includes domestic general and ToU calculations with energy, capacity, network, EEI, retail, AFA, KWTBB and simplified service tax. Commercial LV uses published general rates, while MV/HV energy and maximum-demand estimates are provisional and require data validation. The illustrative 800 kWh temporary exemption ends 31 December 2026.

Solar generation

Energy is modelled hourly using a synthetic daily solar shape scaled to entered monthly kWh/kWp. Actual orientation, shading, weather, degradation, clipping and system losses may differ.

Solar ATAP exports

Domestic export credit uses the applicable energy-charge basis; commercial export estimates require applicable Average SMP. No negative cash credit, carry-forward or cash payout is modelled. The first ten-year programme term and post-term rules require separate treatment in production.

Battery dispatch

The simulation sends solar surplus to the battery before export and discharges to serve deficit, with selected usable capacity, reserve, power and round-trip efficiency.

Financial returns

Simple payback divides capital cost by projected annual savings after maintenance, and is not investment advice. Loan repayments are simulated separately. Market price comparisons are user-supplied and not independently verified.

Data and privacy

This HTML demo uses only client-side JavaScript. No backend exists; optional save uses your browser's local storage. No personal address, TNB account number or vendor quote is transmitted to IT Mark.

Not production-ready. The following need production verification: full tariff rules, Solar ATAP settlement and EEI treatment, non-domestic Average SMP and MD reductions, SST edge cases, shading/site solar data, data consent, submission backend, security review and automated regression tests.
